China’s industrial capacity utilization rate was 74.5 percent in the second quarter, up 0.2 percentage points from the first quarter, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on July 17. In terms of major industries, in the second quarter, the capacity utilization rate of coal mining and washing industry was 74.5%, food manufacturing industry was 68.1%, textile industry was 76.9%, chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry was 74.3%, non-metallic mineral products industry was 65.1%, and ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry was 79.0%. Non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling industry accounted for 80.3%, general equipment manufacturing for 79.7%, special equipment manufacturing for 78.1%, automobile manufacturing for 73.3%, electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing for 77.1%, computers, communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing for 74.6%.
